Helping Syrian Youth

Sign up now for Skate4Syrians, a family friendly skating event being held on Saturday, February 6, 2016!

1200 laps are targeted to be completed at this skating extravaganza, helping to raise funds for better education of Syrian youth residing in refugee camps on the Lebanon/Syria border.

The aim is to help refugee Syrian youth living in traumatic circumstances and with inadequate access to education, realize their potential through programs in the fields of education, career development, and global community engagement.

You can be a part of the event by;
• Sponsoring the team as we “Skate4Syrians”, through our dedicated crowd funding page
• Purchase tickets to attend and skate with us
• Purchase tickets to watch and support family and friends and indulge in some winter treats

The event is being planned and managed by IDRF’s volunteer group – the YPC (Young Professionals Council), a group of 14 volunteers committed to making a difference.

The Syrian youth education initiative hopes to reach out to the many thousands of refugee children in camps in Lebanon who have hardly any means of formal education. The funds raised will help train teachers to work with students with a variety of special needs
