The majority of population of Kapadwanj and surrounding villages live below the poverty line and cannot afford the medical treatments provided by the doctors and hospitals in town. In 2000, Sahyog Charitable Trust (SCT), Kapadwanj established Sahyog General Hospital in Kapadwanj. Given its initial success in treating the needy, SCT hopes to expand its services into a full-fledged hospital in the area and address the health related issues of the poor by providing medicinal services at a reasonable affordable cost. Therefore, in 2005, with the help of the donors, an old building was purchased to expand health services. However, before the building could meet the needs of the hospital, it first needed to undergo several renovations and reconstruct to fit the hospitals purpose.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES OF PROJECT:

1. To provide medicinal, diagnostic services to the poor and needy at reasonable and affordable cost.
   
2. To provide free treatment and medicines to the poor people of the community without any discriminations of caste, creed or religion.
   
3. To help community organisations to implement various health related programmes e.g. malaria eradication, Vaccination.
   
4. To help the people in times of casualty, emergency, natural calamities by providing them health related services.
   
5. To support the government in implementation of the various health awareness programmes.
   
6. To organize medical camps of specialty doctors and help the poor get the services of specialty doctors.
   
7. Run a Dot centre for healing the diseases like T.B.
