IDRF is issuing an urgent appeal to Albertans in general and Calgarians in particular to come forward and help the flood ravaged South Asian country of Pakistan.

An estimated 20 millions (20 times the population of Calgary) have been already affected and at least 6 million were in need of immediate humanitarian aid. We are undertaking fundraising in Calgary and working with many other organizations to coordinate efforts within and outside the Muslim Community.

On August 15, 2010, Dr. Abdul Rahman and IDRF’s Calgary Chapter held a successful fundraiser, which raised $75,000 for IDRF’s Pakistan Flood Relief Fund. They are still seeking funds to provide aid to the millions of people that would include medical assisstance, food, clean water and other essential items.
