On June 18th at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, four members of the IDRF community were among attendees of a Diamond Jubilee Gala Celebration of Her Majesty the Queen. Hosted by the Honorable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and Mrs. Ruth Ann Onley, the event provided a chance to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s life of service by honoring members of the Order of Canada and the Order of Ontario.

Dr. Fuad Sahin, O. Ont. (IDRF Founder), Winston Kassim, C.M. (IDRF Chair of the Board), Zeib Jeeva, O. Ont. (IDRF Vice Chair and Treasurer), and Charles Coffey, O.C. (IDRF Advisory Council Member) were among 600 other Order of Canada and Order of Ontario members who were presented with Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals at the event. These medals were presented to honor the significant achievements and remarkable services of all recipients.

Following medal presentations by the Honorable David C. Onley, several former vice-regal representatives, and other notable Canadians, all attendees enjoyed a specially-commissioned National Film Board short feature and performances by renowned Canadian artists.

IDRF congratulates our recipients on this high honor, and is proud of their years of dedicated service to the community.
