Due to the civil unrest in Syria, the security situation has worsened and the lives of many of its people are in great danger.
Recent clashes have intensified in the Northwest of Syria in the province of Hama and Homs and Idlib bordering with Turkey, with many villages around these towns under Syrian army attack. The total number of refugees that currently reside in camps on the Turkish side of the border is estimated to exceed 38,000 with numbers climbing daily. At current influx rates, Turkish authorities estimate to have more than 50000 Syrian refugees in Turkey by the end of August 2012.
The Turkish government issued an international appeal for assistance for the refugees for basic needs. State resources of more than 100 million USD have been expired and need for support for the needs of the refugees on food, medical treatment, psychosocial treatment is growing.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES
This project covered the emergency needs of 1000 Syrian refugees moved to temporary shelters in the town Kilis of Gaziantep Province of Turkey. This number of beneficiaries was aimed to grow to 2000 or 3000 based on the funding capacity.
In addition, around 500 hosting families in the villages of Altinozu, Boynuegin, Reyhanli and Yayladagi got monthly food and hygiene packages as a supportive action for capacity building to meet the needs of the refugees for three months.
