Driven by the mandate of creating opportunities for kids to thrive and learn, IDRF’s 9th Annual Golf Tournament this year successfully raised funds for the Valley Park Go-Green Cricket Field project in Toronto. On July 14th golfers were out bright and early at the Lionhead Golf and Country Club to play and raise funds for the unique Canadian project which supports youth and sustains community development.

The Go-Green Cricket Field project will revamp the Valley Park Middle School playing field and neighboring Hydro land, located on the edge of the Don Valley, into a cricket field. Learning opportunities will include a butterfly garden for science students and sustainable concepts like collection of rainwater from the school’s roof to irrigate the field.
