Significant inter-community violence continues in Burma and in particular in the area of Rakhine state, resulting in loss of life, destruction of homes and property. Some 115,000 displaced people are still living in challenging conditions while mass community displacement including cross-border refugee movement continues. (www.unhcr.org/508fbdd19.html)

As a supporter of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), IDRF is helping to distribute relief supplies amongst affected communities where the needs are massive and where people are still unable to return to their homes due to the ongoing widespread destruction. The relief supplies being distributed through UNHCR include sleeping mats, mosquito nets, and basic aid items which will provide temporary emergency shelter.

To ensure that shelter and essential services go on being adequately provided to the growing number of people seeking refuge, IDRF is continuing to supply timely provision of vital care to those in greatest need and is requesting your generous support.
