PAST PROJECT
With the support of CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency) and our local partner on the ground, IDRF assisted the large numbers of internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in Geneina.

IDRF acknowledges the support and contribution from CIDA for this project.

5000 IDPs living in public locations will be relocated to a more secure and environmentally appropriate space. This will facilitate the provision of humanitarian assistance and meet the acute needs of the displaced communities in terms of physical security, shelter, water, sanitation, and health.

The construction of temporary shelters for 1000 households has begun, and many families are currently living in these new shelters. Other activities include increased services to a primary health centre, the installation of hand-pumps, improved sanitation through the construction of showers and latrines.
