At IDRF we are committed to ensure that the world’s most vulnerable people can live with dignity and become self-reliant.

This Ramadan your donation of Zakat, Sadaqah, Fitrah and Fidya/Kafara will provide food, water, and sustainable programming to those who need it the most.

Note: At IDRF we are committed to managing your funds and being accountable to you as our donors with full transparency. To do this, we are committed to ensuring that the funds you have selected are designated to the appropriate country. In the event IDRF receives funds that cannot be designated to the country selected, then please know that the funds will be redirected to support other vulnerable communities that are in urgent need.

Your contributions help to support our 4 key initiatives this Ramadan.

Our 1 Million Meals initiative provides three meals a day and clean water for individuals and families in famine affected regions of Somalia. Three years of drought conditions has left nearly 13 million people in Somalia and other areas of East Africa are at risk of starvation. An approximate 600,000 children under five will soon suffer from extreme malnutrition. This year, to contend with the overwhelming humanitarian crisis in Bangladesh, IDRF has partnered with Global Media to administer food packages to the vulnerable Rohingya people who have fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar.

1 Drop initiative seeks to provide access to clean water to those impacted by drought and conflict in places such as Pakistan, India and Palestine. In these countries, women and children walk over 10 kilometres, multiple times a day, to bring clean water to their families, which severely affects young girls’ ability to attend school. Our efforts to mitigate these challenging circumstances includes packaging and sending out life-saving water resources which will not only provide an essential life resource to people who are suffering under some of the most deprived conditions imaginable, but will also enable young girls to attend school and develop their potential.

Our Fitrah project will provide farmers in Gaza, Palestine with the support they need to gain access to water and seeds so that they can grow produce, which IDRF purchases. The end result of this Fitrah project enables us to support local farmers and also provide local families with fresh, locally grown produce. Our Fitrah project will also provide short term food relief for vulnerable families by providing them with nutritious food to help them celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan.
