Hope through Healthcare

04 January, 2018 Pakistan, Health
Approximately 6,000 children in Pakistan are affected with cancer each year and about 60 percent of these children do not receive proper diagnosis and treatment. The prohibitive cost of healthcare services and the shortage of advanced cancer treatment centers are the two main barriers that prevent children with cancer from treatment. As a result, the child mortality rate for children with cancer is alarmingly high.

Our Response:

Our Indus Child Cancer Treatment project with the Indus Pediatric Cancer Centre provides free healthcare for child cancer patients across Pakistan, specializing in Childhood Leukemia and Lymphoma while also treating children with tumors.

Our project is achieving great results for nearly 1,000 children whose families were previously unable to access this lifesaving cancer care. Support from generous donors like you will help to further fund chemotherapy treatment, provide a timely and sustainable source of medication and also ensure that follow up oncologist appointments occur. Through your significant donations, we can continue to provide this essential healthcare resource to these children.

Note: At IDRF we are committed to managing your funds and being accountable to you as our donors with full transparency. To do this, we are committed to ensuring that the funds you have selected are designated to the appropriate country. In the event IDRF receives funds that cannot be designated to the country selected, then please know that the funds will be redirected to support other vulnerable communities that are in urgent need.
