IDRF’s founder awarded Order of Canada!

We are pleased to learn that Dr. Fuad Sahin, IDRF’s founder, will be honouredwith the Order of Canada, an award of great cultural importance. Created in 1967, the Order of Canada recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Notable recipients of this award include Artist Ken Lum, writer Lee Maracle, renowned actor William Shatner and the musician Jann Arden.

As IDRF’s principle founder, Dr. Fuad Sahin has been a central force in IDRF’s projects, founding it with a three other community-minded Canadians to provide critical aid for vulnerable people in developing countries. Thirty-three years later, IDRF has grown into a highly effective organization that has provided emergency relief and sustainable development assistance to the most vulnerable in over forty countries.

We are happy to hear that our founder, Dr. Sahin, has received this great honour and also encourage you to keep in the loop for all of the great projects and events that we have planned for 2018 to help bring health, hope and dignity to some of the most at-risk people in the world.
