Winston Kassim C.M., is currently providing consulting services to Financial Services (including being a Special Projects Advisor to the Office of the CEO at the Royal Bank of Canada) and global not-for-profit companies, Winston Kassim retired in December, 2015 from RBC as the executive Head for strategy and strategic performance management after more than 35 years service. He served in various businesses within RBC and was on the Board of the Directors for its Caribbean subsidiary, Royal Bank of Canada Barbados Limited. He currently serves as an editorial board member for London based Retail Banker International and sits on the board of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship
In 2009, Winston was recognized as a member of the Order of Canada for his extensive 30 plus years of volunteer services in community involvement, economic development and advocacy for groups and individuals (including advocating to the Canadian Government for the honorary citizenship of Nelson Mandela). During this time, he played an instrumental role in establishing several faith-based community centres that provide outreach services focusing on newcomers to Canada.
Winston is a past chair of IDRF, having served for four years ending in 2014 when the charity was recognized as one of the top 25 Canadian charities (out of 86,000 registered charities) by the Financial Post. He currently serves on IDRF’s executive committee as its Chair for Global Monitoring. Winston also volunteers as a Presiding Officer at Canadian citizenship ceremonies, and in June 2012, he was recognized with The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Winston holds an MBA from Athabasca University and is a Certified Corporate Director (ICD.D) as a graduate from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
