On March 15th, the Syrian Civil War entered its seventh year in which over 400,000 people have been killed and over one million have been injured. The statistics remain staggering: 11.3 million people, including 3 million people living with injuries and disabilities, require health assistance, with 3 million people living in besieged areas and 743,000 children at severe risk of malnutrition. Recently, almost 50,000 people have fled Eastern Ghouta, near Damascus and the northern town of Afrin.
To help mitigate this immense humanitarian crisis, IDRF has been working to distribute food packages for vulnerable Syrians during the Holy Month of Ramadan which can fulfill one families’ nutritional needs for a month.
The humanitarian situation in Syria remains dire: Join us as we help to provide basic essentials to vulnerable people living in one of the most precarious environments on earth.
