The cold takes its toll on everyone, but for those who live in dire poverty, winter is especially harsh.

This is the case for vulnerable refugees from Syria*, who have fled from the ongoing violence of the Syrian Civil War to neighbouring countries like Lebanon, taking refuge in the Wavel refugee camp in the crowded Bekaa region.

Likewise, in Gaza, an ongoing blockade that has been imposed on the region and three military assaults has triggered a sharp rise in unemployment, low purchasing power, high inflation and massive infrastructure damage. Thousands of families are unable to return home, forcing them to live in sub-standard or overcrowded conditions.

Lack of reliable food, clean water and heat during the winter months means that the fight for survival for these refugees and vulnerable Gazans continues.

How You Can Help

• For only $65, you can provide a package of children’s clothing or blankets for one vulnerable Gazan family.
• For only $100, you can provide fuel vouchers that for refugee families who have fled to Lebanon from Syria to purchase vital fuel supplies to heat their homes and cook their food.

Your contributions can provide lifesaving warmth for dozens of families and hundreds of children so they can survive through the harsh, inclement winter weather.

*This refugee group also includes Palestinians who have fled to Syria and then to Lebanon
