Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based industries are the fastest growing in the world and many Canadians are excited about turning their passion for building websites into a career. However, women only represent 25% of the individuals employed in tech.
IDRF is pleased to announce a new partnership with The United Way Greater Toronto and Lighthouse Labs to implement Coding and Web Development to Women in the GTA- a program that will train 32 women between the ages 18-29 with 45 hours of web development training and promote the pursuit of employment in STEM. In addition, participants will also receive job readiness training that will educate them on how to navigate the Canadian job market.

Update: Due to the immense in interest in this program, we encourage all those hoping to participate to sign up as soon as possible. In the case where the number of requests exceeds of available spaces, priority will be given to women in the greatest need for job preparedness training and those underrepresented communities in the tech sector.
