The humanitarian crises in Yemen are increasingly becoming one of the most critical humanitarian crisis in the world: over 20 million people or three-quarters of the population remain in need of humanitarian aid and over 2.3 million people have been displaced as a result of the conflict since March 2015. There remains no diplomatic solution to this conflict, which has already claimed close to 50,000 lives, including children: it has reeked untold damage on infrastructure, the Yemeni economy, the availability of basic social services, further contributing to the proliferation of famine and water-borne diseases such as cholera. Emergency aid in this devastating time will continue to mean the difference between life and death for Yemenis who are living under these unimaginable conditions.
IDRF is committed to providing essential food aid for those who are most in need. Our project will provide will provide food packages to families in Hodeidah who have been displaced by the civil war in Yemen. The food packages will contain staples such as lentils, rice, pasta, oil, sugar and chickpeas and will be sufficient to sustain one family for a period of one month.
